Volunteers can help conserve Malaysia's natural habitat

The programs are implemented with partner project sites and aim to benefit the environment, wildlife and the surrounding community. APE participates in ongoing conservation projects with partners that are working towards common conservation outcomes. People and organizations can also become involved with these projects through APE’s volunteering program, education program or corporate social responsibility services. The organization currently works at five different sites, each with goals driven by the conservation needs of the individual site.

APE offers four volunteer programs for people to choose from:
•   Zoo assistant
•   Volunteering family adventure
•   Borneo wildlife safari
•   Wild orangutan encounters

Volunteers help enhance the on-going conservation programs through fees that help fund the programs and through physical manpower. Some of the volunteer activities include habitat restoration, wildlife population density data gathering, observing wildlife, such as orangutans, and working alongside zookeepers. The program durations vary from 7 – 28 days.
