India’s exclusive distributor of world class aquatic products of Aqua Design Amano (ADA) Japan, is hosting The Great Indian Aquascaping Awards (TGIAA) 2013 on the 27th of July at The Grand Magrath Hotel, Bangalore. Grand prizes and freebies worth lakhs of rupees including ADA memorabilia are up for grabs at the event, which also includes many different types of fun and learning activities.
In TGIAA 2013, the best aquascapers will be recognized in many different award categories such as Young Aquascaper, Woman Aquascaper, Regional Aquascapers, and the grand All India Aquascaper. A new award category has been introduced this year - People’s Choice to be decided by attendees at the venue. The winner of the People’s Choice is awarded The Trevor Memorial Rolling Trophy, in memory of the late Mr. Trevor Menezes , who was a leader of the online portal - Indian Aquarium Hobbyist.
TGIAA 2013 also includes several activities for attendees such as networking sessions, hands-on competitions, expert talks, panel discussions, and ‘Adip-o-sans’ brainteasers, already famous on social media.
“The awards ceremony marks the end of a rigorous, nation-wide selection process of many months, in which an eminent panel of international judges, led by Mr. Takashi Amano, Founder & MD of ADA Japan, selects the winners. We organize this event to recognize these winners and to proudly showcase aquariums designed in India to the world” said Adip Sajjan Raj, Managing Director of Still Water Aquatics. “As always, we expect 100s of aquarists from all parts of India for this event, and we are excited to host them for a day of recognition, learning and fun.”
The announcement of the award of The Trevor Memorial Rolling Trophy to the winner of the People’s Choice category has received a warm reception. “Trevor was the person that all hobbyists looked up to as a mentor, guide, thought leader, and above all as a friend” said Sadashiv Nayak, senior hobbyist and moderator of Indian Aquarium Hobbyist portal.
